This winery started its activities in 2003, it was created with the certainty that the small wineries in Mexico can make a better quality wine and can compete with the larger companies, offering the unique and personal touch of a boutique wine to its consumers with the production quality of Mexico’s Premium Wines. The first fermentation didn’t took place until 2006, sufficient time to properly develop the infrastructure and the vineyards for a complete production and controlled quality.

The project has a family origin, created by its owners Amado and Ana Garza, always emphasized for its personalized attention to the breeding and care of the grape; still currently, the selection and fermentation is carried out by the owners in a careful and meticulous way, with the enological advising of the Engineer Hugo D' Acosta; a day by day labor that only a project of life would be able to demand.
Today we have 7 acres of vineyards in production and 22 in development; the highlights of the first harvested varietals are the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, but the search of new mixtures and fragrances has awoken the interest by the sowing of new varieties: Tempranillo, Grenache, Zinfandel, Carignan, Nebbiolo, Cinsault, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscatel.

The first results of this hard labor are Amado IV, Colina Norte and Tinto del Mogorcito, but above all, they are the result of a passion and joy for the art of making good wine that the Garza family has.

Viñas de Garza has the technology required for the winemaking and the wine varietals control. They have everything from a laboratory to a cutting edge art bottling machines that support the production capacity and quality of their company.

The wine-making plant, located in the Rancho Mogorcito facilities, has the capacity of aging, bottling and storing 3000 boxes; witch is the estimated total production for 2010. During 2008 total production was 1800 vinified boxes.

The plantation of vineyards increased by 100% in 2009, with that they reinforced their production capacity so that they could get aligned with their goals.

The cellar has temperature and humidity controls, adequate ventilation for air exchange and a reserves winery with the favorable conditions for the aging and rest of premium quality wine.
